Fire Ops 101: An Introduction to the Fire Service

In a first for the Corona Firefighters Association, members have come together to show the leaders and dignitaries from the City of Corona a little bit of how it feels to be a firefighter, as well as explain tasks, the capabilities, and the limitations of current equipment and staffing. Special thanks to Engineer Ryan Rolston for leading this fantastic program and FF John Deyoe for leading the video production of this event!

Relay for Life - Team 'Corona Fire' run for local youth

This year (2011), the Corona Firefighters would like to honor a very special friend, Parker Hovenier. Parker (4 years old) was diagnosed with Clear Cell Sarcoma of the Kidney in Sept, 2010. This is a rare tumor that affects only 20 children each year. He underwent surgery to remove one of his kidneys and the large tumor. There was a trace amount of cancer remaining so he was treated as a Stage 3 patient, meaning he received 8 months of chemo and radiation treatments. He just finished up in May 2010 and is cancer free. Parker will undergo tests for the next few years to make sure it does not come back. For the 2011 Relay for Life, Team Corona Firefighters dedicated their run to Parker!
